What personality trait in people raises a red flag with you?

Smiles, friends. What a lovely fing a smile is, when peoples looks at you and they does a smile.

Their eyes go little and I sees the lines on their faces of all the smiles they have done before and that does me a happy because it’s nice to knows a person is a person with lots of smiles inside them. Because peoples who haves smiles inside them will sometimes have treats in their pockets too.

My favourite fing other than smiles with treats is when a person smiles and I gets to see their teefs. When I were a small lad, I used to fink that smiles were frightening, because when dogs show their teefs like humans, sometimes it means they are going to do you a nasty bite, but Muvver explained to me that there is somefink called ‘body language’ and that it was important that I learned it because we are all different.

She said to me, “Ziggy Moonbeam, when people smile with their teefs, that means they are happy. They are being friendly. Just remember that when other dogs do that to you, it’s very different.”

It were too late for me to learn that cats also did somefink very different to dogs. Which I did a learn of when I was walking through a park with some cats when I was very small.

Friends, I finked they were dogs too because they were the same size as me and their tails were all doing big wags.

Cats still do me a fright now when I sees them so I does a big shout at thems: GO AWAY LION WOLFS, then I runs and hides behind Muvver.

Back to the face smiles: With human teefs, I gets to see the smile lines on the face and also I likes to look at the shape of the teefs because they are different to mine, which are pointy. At night when I’ve had my teefs brushed, I likes to watch Muvver and Farver brush their teefs too and I finks to myself:

“How lovely that we keeps our teefs nice and clean for when we does smiles.”

Not all dogs who shows their teefs are doing a bad though, friends. I does a real smile when I is happy and you can tells it’s a happy smile because my eyes go small and my Grandmuvver says “Look at his ears, they go back like he’s a darling little bunny rabbit” and then they gives me treats for being a good boy.

And this is where we come to the fing that makes me dig out my little red flag and start waving it, friends. Sometimes, but not often, there are peoples in the world who only smiles with their teefs and this means one fing, friends.

They is doing a lie, because smiles live in the teefs, the face lines AND the eyes. And I have come to knows that peoples who don’t have smiles in their eyes don’t have treats in their pockets.

Peoples who looks at dogs and does their smiles only with their teefs… they makes me do a nervous, friends.
